It’s no secret that technology is a big part of our lives these days. Many of us spend our workdays in front of a computer and then chill out on our tablets or phones at home. All this screen time can be tough on our eyes, leading to tiredness, less focus, and even more mistakes at work. Plus, no one likes dealing with red, swollen or twitching eyes. But don’t worry! Here are five easy tips that can help fight off those pesky computer-eye issues:

1. **Get yearly eye checks**: One of the best ways to keep your eyes healthy is to have a thorough eye checkup every year. Make sure to let your eye doctor know how much time you spend in front of screens daily. Also, inform them about the distance between your eyes and your screen, so they can check your eyes for that specific distance.

2. **Blink more**: Although it may seem like tiny advice, blinking more often while using a computer can help keep your eyes fresh. It prevents dryness and irritation. If you notice that your eyes are dry, chat with your doctor about using artificial tears to relieve the symptoms.

3. **Work out your eyes**: Just like rest of your body, your eyes need a workout too! Help reduce eye fatigue by looking away from your computer to something at a distance every 20 minutes or so for about 20 seconds. By doing this, you allow the focusing muscles in your eyes to relax.

4. **Take breaks**: Remember to take a breather from screen time. This not only helps your eyes but also reduces body discomfort and any pain in your back, neck, or shoulders. Try to take a couple of 15-minute breaks during your workday. Stand up, walk around and stretch during these breaks to aid in reducing muscle tension.

5. **Pamper your eyes**: Treating your eyes to a little TLC is always a good idea! You can do this at home or at a spa offering eye-soothing treatments. Trust me, your eyes will thank you for it!
